Art Posters Collection

A series of thematic art and film posters

Art Posters Collection — project cover
Venue
Nepal Art Council
Shown
15–20 June 2020
Scope
Three posters, one film
Role
Poster design

A collection of posters designed across separate themes: "Lost in Nature" on a mountain landscape, "From the Point of View" on market fruit and daily life, "Through the Dark" on metallic still life, and a feature film sheet set in Nepali type. Each one adapts layout, typography and composition to its own subject while reading as part of one season.

01

The brief

Three separate exhibitions and a feature release had to look like one programme without flattening the differences between the photographs.

02

One grid

Title flush-left in two weights, credit block beneath it, venue and dates fixed in the same corner on every sheet — so the grid does the family resemblance.

Restraint in colour

Colour marks only the headline and the photographer's name. Everything else stays neutral so the photograph carries the poster.

Outcome

Four sheets printed from one set of rules, hung together at Baber Mahal without any of them competing with the work on the walls.
